Funeral services for Robert Owens Alexander III will be held noon Saturday March 13 at Spring Lake M.B. Church in Lexa. Pastors Lonnie Whitfield and Andrew Gibson will officiate. Burial will be at Jackson Memorial Garden. Visitation is tonight from 5 to 6 p.m. at Allen Temple AME Church on Ashlar Street.
Robert Alexander III, better known as “Bob,” was born Sept. 22, 1964 to Robert Alexander Jr. and Annie K. Alexander in Helena-West Helena. He confessed Christ at the Allen Temple A.M.E. Church. He graduated from Central High's class of 1983 and later moved to Little Rock. He married Sunya Washington and to their union 2 children were born.
Alexander departed this life March 3, 2010 in Little Rock. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Alexander Jr., brother, Marlowe Alexander Sr. and grandparents Sandy and Annie Knowlton. He leaves to cherish his memory 8 children, Shena (Troy) Boose of Dallas, Robert IV, Orlando, Robyn and Ilysha, all of Little Rock, Courtney of Conway, Beverly and Alexis, both of Jacksonville; 6 grandchildren, Jakia, Troy Jr., Trakayla, Caylon, Robert V and Romya; a devoted mother, Annie K. Lindsey and stepfather, Harry Lindsey of Helena-West Helena; 2 brothers, Earnest (Debbie) Alexander of Omaha, Neb. and Adrian (Clarissa) Lindsey of Centerville, Ohio; 2 sisters, Elizabeth (Kevin) Thornton of Florida and Latonya Hunt of Helena-West Helena; a sister-in-law, Karen Alexander of Helena-West Helena; grandparents, Curtis and Marion Melvin of Helena-West Helena; 10 aunts, 7 uncles, 11 nieces, 7 nephews, godmother Deloris Jones of Indianapolis, Ind.; a special friend, Melissa Perry of North Little Rock, 2 special mentors, Ricky Bryant of North Little Rock and Abraham Carpenter of Little Rock; and a host of cousins and friends.
