Funeral services for Louise Palmer Coleman will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 6 at the First Baptist Church at Midland Heights. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Friday, March 5 in the Jackson and Highley Funeral Home chapel.
Coleman, born Oct. 16, 1932 in Phillips County to the late Elijah Palmer Sr. and Annie Mae Humphries, went home to be with God on Feb. 26, 2010 with her family by her side. She was the fourth of 16 children born to the Palmers.
She married Jessie Coleman Sr. in August 1950 and to their union 11 children; six sons and five daughters were born. 
She attended school in Helena. She accepted Christ at a young age and followed Him until the end. One of her favorite sayings was that she was going “to stay with God and see what the end would bring."
She was a member of the First Baptist Church at Midland Heights where she served as an usher and a faithful member until her health failed.
Louise Coleman never met a person that she did not like.
Her husband, Jessie Coleman Sr., her father, Elijah Palmer Sr., her mother, Annie Mae Humphries Palmer, brothers, Sylvester Palmer, Nolan Vance, Joseph Lee Palmer and Elijah Palmer Jr.;  sisters, Leona Palmer Young, Bernice Palmer Cole, sons, Jessie Coleman Jr., an infant son, her oldest daughter, Olivia Coleman and two infant daughters and granddaughter, Mary Coleman Tucker preceded her in death.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory four sons, Danny Coleman of Grand Rapids, Mich., Bradford Timothy Coleman of Helena, Willie James Coleman of Kenosha, Wis., Parish (Valarie) Coleman of Newport News, Va.; two daughters, Kathy Yvonne Coleman of Jonesboro and Debra Elaine Coleman of Helena; a special granddaughter, Latoya Tongia Coleman (Jerrael) Harmon of Conway. She also leaves four brothers, Edward Charles Palmer of Philadelphia, John Lee Palmer of Helena, Curtis Vance of Cave City, Earnest Vance of Batesville; three sisters, Mildred Palmer Byrd, Helen Vance and Wanda Vance of Chicago; 28 grandchildren; 40 great- grandchildren; and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Jackson and Highley Funeral Home will direct services.
