Earl F. Norton Jr., 95, died Monday, Aug. 30, 2010 at his home in Marvell. He was born in Alabama on June 5, 1915 the son of Dr. Earl Norton Sr. and Mary Gaines Norton. Earl was a member of the Marvell United Methodist Church and a retired salesman for Pan American Life Insurance Co.
He leaves two daughters, Mary E. Norton Frans and husband, James of Marvell and Nancy Norton Griffith of Little Rock; a brother, Bill Norton of Aiken, S.C.; two grandchildren, Robbie Hall of Turner and Natalie Griffith of Little Rock; a great-grandchild, Chelsea Hall of Jonesboro.
His wife, Alma Moore Norton and three brothers, Gaines, Frank and Richard Norton, preceded him in death.
Pallbearers will be Donald Ray Washburn, Richard Wooten, Bruce Hayes, Shelton Guest, Mike Woodyard and Julian Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be E.J. Hosey and Dave Dubach.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. today at the Marvell United Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the church with Brother Kirk Doering officiating. Burial will be in Marvell Cemetery. Bob Neal and Sons-Brickell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
