Funeral services for Mildred Edmond, 86, of Marianna, will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at the Mt. Zion M.B. Church in Marianna with the Rev. Napoleon Gillespie officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Marianna. Visitation will be held tonight from 5-7 at the Mt. Zion M.B. Church in Marianna.
Edmond was born in Marianna to John Henry Edmond and Flossie Edmond on Dec. 11, 1922.
She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and was a dedicated member of the Mt. Zion M.B. Church where she served on the Mother's Board and sang in the choir until her health began to fail.
She was a devoted mother and was known for her high spirits. She could often be found indulging in a friendly conversation. She was a joy to all she encountered.
She is reunited with her parents, A sister, Annie Redden; two daughters, Wilma Jean Young and Elnora Banks; three sons, Eddie Lee Jones, Gene Edward Jones Sr. and David Lee Jones Sr.
She DIED June 11, 2009 at her home among loved ones.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her sister, Rose A. Carter of Benton Harbor, Mich.; three loving daughters, Mary Louise Jones, Rose Marie Jones and Denise Robins, of Marianna; a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great -great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Brown's Home for Funerals, Inc. will direct the services.
