Funeral services for William E. Read, 61, of Helena-West Helena will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009 in the Robert Lee Brown Memorial Chapel with Brother Charles Shipman officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove No.1 Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24.
Read was born Aug. 19, 1948 in Indianapolis, Ind. He was a U.S. Army veteran and fought in the Vietnam War. He was a Baptist. He spent most of his life in the military and working as a mechanic. He passed away at his home on Oct. 2, 2009.
He leaves a daughter, Rhonda Knight of the home in Helena-West Helena; six grandchildren, Samantha Garrison of Lexa, Jimmy Cotton Jr. of Trumann, Felecia Morgan of Pocahontas, Tracey Cotton and Travis Cotton of Trumann and Amanda Cotton of the home in Helena-West Helena; 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.
