Funeral services for Lee Anna (Dolly) White will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010 at the Beautiful Zion M.B. Church in Helena-West Helena. Rev. Kidd Campbell will officiate. Burial will be in Jackson Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 6 tonight in the Stephens Funeral Home chapel in Helena-West Helena.
White came from the Christian home of the late Cad White and Annie Bell Hawkins. She was born Aug. 2, 1932 in Helena. Her love for Jesus never ceased a moment since the day she found Christ. She was converted and baptized at an early age at the St. Mary No. 2 Church. She served there until the Lord decided her work there was finished. He moved her to serve and work for him at the Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church. Her church home at the time of her death was the Beautiful Zion M.B. Church. She remained there until her health failed. She served in many capacities from singing in the choir. During her years of turmoil, the Lord gave her four joys in her life, her children.
"When he calls me, I will answer," and she acknowledged God's call Feb. 22, 2010 at the Helena Regional Medical Center.
She leaves her loving daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Rev. Danny Robinson of Helena; a grandson, Eric; her sons, Oritha (Brenda) Scoggins of Riverdale, Ga., Carl (Betty Williams) Scoggins of Helena, Benard (Linda Kaye) Scoggins of California; her grandchildren, Marshall, Gloria, Keith, Caretta, Carl Jr., Chris, Jacob and Kaleb; 25 great-grandchildren; a sister, Janet (Stan) Guydon of Gary, Ind.; two brothers, Willie Lee White, and Larry (Katie) Hawkins of Chicago; special friends, Lois Arnett, Edlina Smith, Norma Anderson, Bobbie Scoggins, Herman Payne and Rev. and Mrs. James Hicks.
