Funeral services for Mother Lonnie Mae Thomas will be held 2 p.m. Saturday in the Robert Lee Brown Chapel in Helena. Elder Eddie Spencer will officiate. Burial will be in Jackson Memorial Cemetery
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. tonight in the Robert Lee Brown Chapel.
Thomas was born March 5, 1927 to Edgar and Mattie B. (Harris) Washington in Snow Lake. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age. She was a faithful member of New Hope Church of God in Christ until her health failed.
Thomas was a sweet and loving wife and mother. She was married to the late Robert Lee Thomas and seven children were born to their union. Four of her children, Betty Farr, Loretta Fitzgerald, Larry Thomas and Annie Ruth Thomas preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memory, three daughters, Estella Spriggs and Cassandra (Billy) Ward, both of Helena and Bernice Brown of Los Angeles; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Bernice Williams of Columbia, S.C.; two brothers, Andrew Washington of Toledo, Ohio and Reuben Washington of Jacksonville; a daughter-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Brown's Home for Funerals Inc. will direct services.
