William Earl “Bill” Barnes, 82, of Helena-West Helena, passed away Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012. Bill was born March 26, 1929 in Blackton to Walter Barnes and Ruby Dottry Barnes.

Bill leaves behind to mourn him 3 sons, William Earl Barnes Jr. (Lois), of Monroe, Mich., James D. Barnes of Tyler, Texas and Steve Barnes (Tiffany) of Tyler; a daughter, Debra Sue Lambert (Keith) of Virginia Beach, Va.; 4 grandchildren, Brian Barnes, Victoria Addison Barnes, Chad Lambert and Melissa Butcher; a sister, Dora Vipperman of Helena-West Helena; a brother, Ray Barnes (Shirley) of Helena-West Helena.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Jean Barnes, his parents, Walter and Ruby Barnes, and brothers, Hubert and Everett Barnes.

Pallbearers are Brian Barnes, Chad Lambert, David Butcher, Alan Barnes, Alan Barnes Jr. and Josh Rowland. Honorary Pallbearers are Charles Taylor, James Taylor, Winfred Henson and John Karlwitsch.

Services are Wednesday, Feb. 1 at 1 p.m. at Roller-Citizens Chapel. Burial will follow in Marvell Cemetery in Marvell. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31 also in the chapel. Rev.
