Funeral services for Jalicia Jones, 23, of Helena-West Helena will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010 at the New Haven M.B. Church. Elder Michael Jenkins will officiate. Burial will follow in the Mt. Avery Cemetery in Friars Point, Miss. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 tonight at the Church of the Living God at 700 E. Park Street in Helena-West Helena.
On a nice winter day, Dec. 11, 1987 in Clarksdale, Miss. Jalicia Jones was born to Linda Jones and Frednardo Johnson. She was the first born of three children. Jalicia departed this life as the result of a car accident, on Feb. 14, 2010 in Mississippi. Friends and family will truly miss her.
At an early age, Jalacia accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized. Jalicia attended Central High School in West Helena and Sheffield High School in Memphis. She also attended New Wave Hair Academy in Memphis.
 Jalicia graduated from Ouachita Job Corps in Royal, where she received her high school diploma and her certificate in brick and masonry in 2004. She was attending Coahoma Community College at the time of her death, majoring in business management.
Jalicia was no stranger to anyone. She loved people.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Kyrese Jadarius Jones and Kyron Jahrese Johnson, both of Helena-West Helena; her mother, Linda Jones of Helena-West Helena; her father, Frednardo Johnson of Jonestown, Miss.; a sister, Janeria Jones of Helena-West Helena; a brother, Christian Cannimore of Helena-West Helena; and a host of brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will dearly miss her.
