Ray Ernest Carter, 91, of New Albany, Miss., died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010 in New Albany. Carter was born July 2, 1918 in Nebraska to the late Wilbur E. and Hazel Bickford Carter.
He leaves two sons, Rodney Carter (Kathy) of Cheyenne, N.Y. and Daniel Carter (Ginny) of Harrisburg; a daughter, Diane Anderson (Steven) of Myrtle, Miss.; 21 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
His wife, Maxine Carter, three stepsons, Robert, Ronald, and Gerald Biesecker, preceded him in death.
Services for Carter will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 at Roller-Citizens. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Roller-Citizens. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Helena-West Helena. Rev. Daniel Anderson, Rev. Micah Carter, Rev. Claude Mills and Rev. Charles Shipman will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Andy Johnson, Nathan Mills, Ken Anderson, Aaron Anderson, Chris Anderson and Austin Anderson.
