Marie Jane Jones, 70, of Helena, passed away Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012 at Southaven, Miss. Mrs. Jones was born July 12, 1941 at Helena to the late Bennie Purvis and the late Annie Jane Morrell Purvis.
She is survived by two sons, Edward Jones of Franklin, Ala. and Peter Paul Dorsett of Helena; a daughter, Margaret Wesley (David) of Lexa; two grandchildren, Lisa Jones and Kim Jones; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Ann Purvis of Helena; and four brothers, Charles Purvis (Shirley) of Helena, Robert “Bob” Purvis (Cathy Sue) of Lexa, Joe Purvis of Helena and William Purvis of Helena.
Her parents, her husband, Homer Hartwell Jones, Jr. and a brother, Bennie Purvis, preceded her in death.
Services for Marie Jones will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 21 at Roller-Citizens. Visitation will be held Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Roller-Citizens. Burial will be in Central Cemetery at Lexa. Pallbearers are Edward Jones, Peter Paul Dorsett, David Wesley, Ryan McGhee, Mike Tidwell and Robert “Bob” Purvis.
