Funeral service for M.C. Robinson, 66, will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7 in the Robert Lee Brown Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Oak Grove No.3 Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Robert Lee Brown Memorial Chapel.
McKinney (M.C.) Robinson was born to Mr. and Mrs. M.C. and Eddie Robinson on  March 19, 1944, the third of nine children. M.C. confessed Christ at an early age. He attended Phillips College. He served extended years in the Vietnam War. His tour of duties included traveling abroad. After leaving the Army he resided in Chicago for several years.
He moved back home to Helena where he met and married Bertha Banks on March 2, 2006.
His niece, Shirley Hawkins-Iyare  and his devoted and loving mother, Eddie Robinson-Brown, cared him for him during his illness. Much appreciation goes to his brother-in-law, Robert Ross. Extra thanks are given to his niece, Shantell Ross, who gave him much love. Special thanks goes to longtime family friend, Marion Early for his kindness and cousin Carl Minor.
He was preceded in death by his father, M.C. Robinson; grandparents, Andrew and Gracie Lee; an aunt, Leverita Minor; uncles Freddie and Jody Lee; four sisters, Josephine Hawkins, Fannie Ross, Jessie and Jackie Robinson; two brothers, Luke Brown, Nathaniel Robinson; a niece and two nephews, Diane and Devell Robinson and Joe Hawkins; and sister-in-law Carrie(Marshall) Robinson.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his wife, Bertha Banks; a son; Troy (Wayne) Robinson, his mother, Eddie Robinson-Brown; an aunt Minnie Bell Murphy, all of Helena; two sisters, Dorrina Ross (Robert) of Memphis; Everdine Leltie (Jerome); two brothers, D. Edward Thomas (Patricia) and Robert Robinson of Chicago; a special niece and nephew Shirley Hawkins-Iyare of Baton Rouge, La. and  Theodus Robinson (Joyce); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Brown's Home for Funerals, Inc. will direct the services.
