Georgie JoAnn Loyd, age 79 years, of Booneville passed from this life Aug. 17, 2018. She was born Oct. 17, 1938, to the late George Woods and Lillie Orene Richardson Bryant. She was a member of Wheeler Avenue Church of Christ in Fort Smith. She retired from City of Booneville Water Department 14 years ago, after 20 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Oscar Junior Loyd; her brother, James Shelburne Bryant; and a great-granddaughter, Cambrie Laine Smith.

Funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at Heritage Addition Church of Christ in Booneville with burial at Oak Hill cemetery in Booneville. There will be no graveside service. Arrangements are under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Roberts Funeral Home.

She is survived by her children, Melinda Lee Smith and her husband Robert of Booneville, Jay Alan Loyd and his wife Laurie of Greenwood and Kim Yvette Trekell and husband Kirk of Alva, Okla.; eight grandchildren, Kyle Lynn Smith and wife Jessica of Wiley, Texas, Kody Alan Smith and wife Laci of Booneville, Ashley Nichole Loyd of Bryan, Texas, Sarah Elaine Barentine and husband Aaron of Greenwood, Ryan Taylor Loyd of Cedarville, Brittany Leeann McGrew and husband Justin of Clarksville, Blake Lee Trekell of Alva and Bradley Loyd Trekell and wife Jenni of Ada, Okla; 10 great-grandchildren, Nathan Gregory and Nelle Ainsley Smith of Wiley, Carter Alan Jack and Lainey Elizabeth Smith of Booneville, Lewis Anthony Barentine of Greenwood, Kaden Jeremiah, Evan Malachi and Lydia Jean McGrew of Clarksville and Carlee Jean and Sierra Abigail Trekell of Ada; one sister, Glenda Lafferty of Centerton; three brothers, C.E. Bryant of Booneville, Donald Bryant of Gainesboro, Tenn., and Jerry Paul Bryant of Greenwood; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Bryant of Booneville; and other relatives and many friends.

She enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles and following friends and family on Facebook. She cherished her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a devoted wife for 57 years and tirelessly cared for her husband in the years and months leading up to his passing. She never left his side. She was loved and respected by everyone that knew her. She had a selfless spirit and a servant’s heart. She loved the Lord with all of her being and raised her family in a godly home. She loved to sing gospel hymns and glorified God in songs with her beautiful alto voice. Her legacy is her love and service to the Lord and her unconditional love to her family and friends.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Kyle, Kody, Ryan, Blake, Bradley, Aaron and Justin; and her son, Jay.
