Betty Jean Jones was born on March 15, 1949 to the late Joseph Jones Sr. and Juanita Scott of Marvell, AR.
Betty was united in holy matrimony to Charles Lee Jones on July 7, 1974.
Betty accepted Christ and was filled with the Holy Ghost at an early age. She was a faithful member of Bethel COGIC under the leadership of Elder John Palmer. She later served as First Lady at New Bethel COGIC under the leadership of Elder Charles Jones. Because of her outgoing spirit and love for Christ she made coming to church fun and exciting. Her voice and presence demanded attention. She held various positions in the church and went above and beyond what she was asked. Some of her positions held were; YPWW President, Bible Band President and Sunday school President just to name a few. She had a gift for giving and a mouth for gabbing, and she was loved by mostly everyone she came in contact with.
Betty’s employment history began at Sanyo Manufacturing Company, in Forrest City, Arkansas where she worked for 32 years. She later retired, but came out of retirement and worked at Caldwell Motors for several years; she also worked for Park Lane Jewelry and received many accolades and promotions for being top salesperson. Those were a few of her many positions, she was a “Jill” of all trades. She left an imprint on your life and heart you would never forget.
