William J. “Billy” Scott Sr., 77, of Marvell passed away Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012 in Helena. Mr. Scott was born Oct. 9, 1934 in Marvell to the late W.T. Scott and the late Pearl Snyder Scott.
He leaves three daughters, Susan Reeves (Jimmy) of Hernando, Miss., Teresa Whaley (Dewey) of Helena and Sandra Green (Joe) of Ocean Springs, Miss.; former wife, Dorothy Scott Floyd; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Malone of Memphis, Mabel Skinner (John) of Greer’s Ferry and Barbara Billingsley (Rivers) of Marvell; and his dog, Chubs.
His parents, a son, William J. Scott, Jr. and a grandson, Jeremy Whaley, preceded him in death.
Graveside services for Billy Scott will be held 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 27 at Sunset Memorial Park in Helena-West Helena. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Roller-Citizens. Reverend Al Ward will officiate.
Pallbearers are Shain Whaley, Ryan Whaley, Will Whaley, Joey Scott, Dalton Scott, Austin Scott and Scott McCool. Honorary pallbearers are Phillips County Health Department, Home Health and Hospice, Kay Whitby and Dr. Ned Pillow.
