Phillips County Sheriff’s deputies, U. S. Forestry Service officials, Arkansas Game & Fish officers and the Helena-West Helena Police Department officers investigated a missing vehicle report, which led to Storm Creek in the St. Francis National Forest. Later, it was discovered that the alleged driver of the car was missing. Proper authorities were notified and took necessary steps to attempt to locate the driver. The person who is believed to have driven the vehicle to the Storm Creek Road Park area has been retrieved, lifeless, from the creek. The coroner and other law enforcement officials will continue the investigation. Family members are being notified.
Following notification of the family, the name of the individual will likely be released to the public.
