Rob Middleton of Eastern Arkansas Planning and Development District presented the maps at last month’s council session. The Council discussed the district map proposals and moved to adopt the maps as presented.
Councilman Joe St. Columbia asked if the city was responsible for notifying those in the wards that will be affected by the future changes. City Clerk Sandi Ramsey replied that the county clerk is responsible for notifying those in each ward.
The redistricting maps will be posted online on the Helena World website photo gallery at helena-arkansas.com and the official website of the city of Helena-West Helena at helena-westhelenaar.com to help each ward resident.
