Dorothy Smith, 54, of Helena-West Helena was taken to The Med in Memphis after she was involved in a one-vehicle accident on Highway 49 East about 1-1/2 miles west of Walnut Corner.
The accident occurred when the vehicle Smith was driving left the roadway on the south side and traveled 500 feet and struck a canal embankment.
Air-Evac took Smith to The MED in Memphis where her condition is listed as serious.
The accident happened around 4:50 p.m. Sunday and was investigated by Arkansas State Trooper Jason Dooley of Brinkley.
