Chrysler LLC has told a bankruptcy court it plans to eliminate 789 of its dealers — including eight from Arkansas.
An exhibit filed Thursday in its bankruptcy court case in New York names the dealerships. Those dealerships include:
—Bob Carver's Cars & Trucks in Mena;
—Cook Jeep Chrysler Inc. in Little Rock;
—Crain Chrysler Dodge Jeep in Little Rock;
—Jim Bryant Motors in Springdale;
—Jones Brothers Auto Inc. in Harrison;
—Louis George Motor Co. in Osceola;
—Malvern Chrysler Dodge Jeep in Malvern; and
—Steve Smith Country in Springdale.
In a statement, Crain Chrysler Dodge Jeep said it would fight Chrysler's decision in state and federal courts. The dealer said Chrysler representatives previously told them they'd be safe from the cuts.
