A Helena-West Helena PliceHelena-West Helena Police officers apparently are not immune from criminal activity that goes on in the community. Helena-West Helena Police officer Demetrice Price found this out early Tuesday morning when he learned his house had been broken into and set on fire in two separate incidents.
On Monday, Helena-West Helena firefighters were called to Price’s home at 125 Baker St. when a fire was set on the cook stove. The blaze damaged the counter top.
On Tuesday, A break-in was reported at Price’s home around 7:30 a.m.
Missing is a DVD player, a police vest and police uniforms.
In an unrelated incident, two teenagers, ages 15 and 16, were arrested and charged with breaking and entering and theft of property after they allegedly broke into the Murphy USA Service Station at 602 Sheila Drive.
The teens are being held at the Dewitt Juvenile Detention Center.
