The Helena-West Helena Police Department has reported several residential break-ins.  A woman came to the department to report that she had discovered some items that were taken in a break-in from her home back on Aug. 17, 2008.
She reportedly found the items at a pawnshop. The items included a belt sander, and an orbiter sander.
The victims went to the pawnshop and identified the items.  The person who allegedly pawned the items was Deven Williams, 19.  The victim reported another suspect in the theft.
A woman in the 100 block of North 8th Street reported that two air conditioners were taken from a vacant house.  The door had been kicked in and officers searched the house and found no other evidence or person.
On Feb. 21, an officer was dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of South 7th Street in response to an attempted break-in.  The resident told police that a black male broke the pane and screen out of a window.
The man was at home and heard the noise.  When he went to check on the disturbance, he saw a man reaching inside the window.  The suspect saw the man and fled.  A possible suspect was mentioned and who also was allegedly involved in the pawnshop incident.
On March 23, a man reported to police that he left a handgun in a friend’s car. He later went to get the gun it was gone.
