Two local people were arrested Wednesday on drug-related charges and police are searching for a third suspect.
Jeremy Bradshaw, 27, of 3004 Highway 49 Lexa and Jessica L. VonKanel, 22, of 522 Cooper St. in Helena-West Helena were arrested Wednesday at Bradshaw’s residence and were charged with conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamines, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of ingredients with intent to manufacture methamphetamines and possession of methamphetamines.
Phillips County Sheriff’s Deputy Dean Jackson and State Trooper Walt McCord went to Bradshaw’s residence at the Wycamp Trailer Park to serve child support papers.
McCord was assisting with consent to search Bradshaw and his residence and methamphetamines were found on Bradshaw and at the residence. Also found were the components to manufacture methamphetamines.
While officers were at the house a wanted person, identified as Chris Jarrett, called Bradshaw to conspire with him to make methamphetamines. Police heard the entire conversation.
When Jarrett arrived at Bradshaw’s residence and spotted the unidentified cars he fled the scene. He currently is still on the run. When apprehended, Jarrett faces the same charges as Bradshaw and VonKanel. Jarett’s bond was set at $50,000 the same as for Bradshaw and VonKanel.
Jarrett is on parole and has a warrant against him because he is on probation.
Flethia Esters, 23, of Helena-West Helena was arrested Sunday and charged with careless and prohibited driving and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver-marijuana.
While on patrol, Helena-West Helena Police Officer Mikel Hall spotted Esters driving erratically. Hall made a left turn out of the right hand lane off Sebastian St. into McDonald’s parking lot.
Ester is being held in the Phillips County jail and as of Monday no bond had been set.
In other police news, Helena-West Helena Police are investigating the attack of a 15-year-old boy Saturday night in the 300 block of North Third St.
The victim was cut on the neck by a 16-year-old Helena-West Helena boy. The victim was taken to Helena Regional Medical Center where he was treated and released.
Police Detective Roy Covington said the attacker was released to the custody of his parents.
