Deputy County Coroner Eugene Handley pronounced Peggy Jean Maxwell, 37, of Helena-West Helena dead at the scene of an apparent hit-and-run incident Sunday.
Customers leaving the club found Maxwell’s lifeless body on the parking lot of the Queen of Clubs around 4:25 a.m.
According to Chief Deputy David Lawman, Maxwell apparently had been run over by a vehicle.
The Phillips County Sheriff’s Department is conducting an investigation into the woman’s death. Her body was sent to the state Crime Lab in Little Rock for an autopsy.
