Members of the Phillips County Sheriff's Department and the 1st Judicial Drug Task Force arrested five local residents Monday. Some were charged with drug-related offenses, others were charged with interfering with police while making the arrests.
Dempsey Word, 38, of 616 Bonanza, Marcus Davis 37, of 638 Sioux St. and Christopher Harvey, 28, of 200 North Washington were charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to use, distribution near certain facilities, the Greater First Baptist Church and two counts of delivery of a controlled substance.
Word's bond was set at $190,000 and Davis and Harvey's bonds were set at $100,000 each.
The men were allegedly distributing crack cocaine and marijuana. Word faces an additional charge of operating a store without a license and selling liquor without a license.
Also charged in connection with the three men's arrest were Cherise Davis, 34, of 638 Sioux who was charged with disorderly conduct and interfering with government operations. She allegedly came to the scene and began using profanity directed at Deputy James Mayfield.
Her bond was set at $1,000.
Also arrested Monday in an unrelated incident was Greg White, 36, of 209 North Seventh St. White was charged with delivery of controlled substance marijuana. He allegedly sold drugs to an undercover agent.
White was arrested Monday when deputies served a search warrant at his residence.
He is being held in the Phillips County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
