Fort Smith police are investigating a reported stabbing from early Thursday.

According to the incident report, a woman told officer Aaron Hancock with the Fort Smith Police Department that the girlfriend of a man who had accused her of pouring sugar into his mom's gas tank had pulled her out of her car and began fighting her. The woman's boyfriend told Hancock that she and the other woman were fighting so much he had to shoot his gun in the air to get their attention.

The woman was taken to an area hospital following the fight, the report states.
