Thanks to the many volunteers, the Hot Springs Village Junior Golf program grows and grows. Over 100 children are enrolled this year playing at many levels from beginner to accomplished teen.
The program, inaugurated by Villager Jack Barry, is offered Wednesdays and Thursdays during June and July with a two-day championship July 25 and 26.
Juniors attend two clinics and play twice to be eligible for the tournament. Picnic and awards will be at 5 p.m. Thursday July 26, at Balboa Pavilion.  The picnic is open to all junior and associate members and their families. No charge for the junior or associate, but each family member must buy a $10 ticket. For questions regarding the picnic call Carolyn Racine at 922-5117.
Junior golfers are required to wear proper attire and shoes and clubs can be purchased at a onetime nominal fee of $30. The goal is for participants to have sufficient knowledge of golf and feel comfortable on any course they choose to play.
For more information call Sharon Medica at 922-2097, Jack Barry at 922-2502, or Bill Veal at 922-3478.
