Lornester Wyatt, Sr. was born February 18, 1933 in Marvell, Arkansas.
He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Trenton, Arkansas. He maintained membership until he joined Second Baptist Church of Lexa, Arkansas, where he served for over 26 years dedicating his time, talents, and services to his Lord and his church. He served faithfully as an Usher at Pleasant Grove and Second Baptist for over 30 years.
Throughout Mr. Wyatt’s life, he was a farmer and painter for many years to support his family. He took pride in every truck he owned. Mr. Wyatt was a fan of baseball. His favorite team was the Atlanta Braves. He loved being outdoors and many summer days, he could be found sitting under the shade of a tree. Mr. Wyatt loved good preaching, gospel music, old western movies, boxing, and wrestling.
On Saturday, June 23, 2018, Mr. Wyatt passed at the Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas at the age of 85.
Preceding him in death was his first wife of 25 years, Evelyn Washington Wyatt; his parents, Clifton and Ethel Lee (Valentine) Wyatt; his brothers, Terry Wyatt; Columbus Wyatt; and Malone Wyatt; his sisters, Eula (Wyatt) Washington; Estella (Wyatt) Hester; and Mattie Mae (Wyatt) Lewis; his daughter, Sandra Wyatt.
To share his legacy of love, he leaves his loving wife of 31 years, Lorin Bogan Wyatt of Lexa, Arkansas; his 13 children, Lornester (Raphellia) Wyatt of Dallas, Texas; Veotis Wyatt of Little Rock, Arkansas; Curtis Wyatt of Phoenix, Arizona; Virginia (Nell) (Carlos) Albert of Marvell, Arkansas; Doris Walker; Donnell Wyatt; and Timmy (Tammie) Wyatt, all of Dallas, Texas; Tony Davis of Little Rock, Arkansas; Willie Wyatt and Carl Wyatt of Lexa, Arkansas; Lisa Wyatt of Dallas Texas; Ellis Wyatt of Lexa, Arkansas; Betty Wyatt and Bruce Wyatt of Dallas, Texas; his special nephew, Anthony Lewis and special granddaughter, LaShanda Albert; his step-children, Marilyn (Jimmy) Jones; Bennie (Sandra) Bogan; Carolyn Bonds; Linda Moss; and Vince (Pat) Steele; his one surviving sister, Ernestine (Wyatt) Jones of Omaha, Nebraska; 24 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other special family members.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 29, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Springlake Missionary Baptist Church in Lexa, Arkansas; with interment to follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Trenton, Arkansas.
