Fort Smith police are investigating the reported street robbery of a pedestrian in the early hours of Thursday morning.

According to the incident report, a man told Officer Austin Collins with the Police Department he was walking west on Mesa Drive toward EZ Mart around 12:45 a.m. Thursday. He said a dark-colored extended cab Chevrolet truck stopped in the road beside him, and a man got out of the truck and opened the back seat.

The man said a man he knew by name got out of the back seat, and someone said, "get him and take his stuff." He said the man he knew then punched him in the face, and the other men jumped him, the report states.

The man said the three men stole his wallet, money, Social Security card, debit card and Arkansas hunting and fishing license valued at $30 and drove off on Mesa Drive, the report states.
