Arkansas Community Foundation is currently accepting grant proposals for projects that improve the social and economic conditions for children and families in the 26-county Arkansas Delta region. Nonprofit and charitable organizations located in one of these counties can apply for grants through the Arkansas Delta Endowment for Building Community through June 15. The online application is available at arcf.org/DeltaEndowment.
“The Arkansas Delta Endowment for Building Community provides an extraordinary opportunity to partner with organizations to build our Delta region,” said Heather Larkin, president and CEO of the Community Foundation. “While this area often faces challenges, there are many local organizations working together to create positive change in the Delta. Supporting these collaborative efforts to improve our communities is one way we can help.”
Any IRS 501(c)(3) public charity, public school or government agency in these Arkansas Delta counties is eligible to apply: Arkansas, Ashley, Chicot, Clay, Craighead, Crittenden, Cross, Desha, Drew, Greene, Independence, Jackson, Jefferson, Lawrence, Lee, Lincoln, Lonoke, Mississippi, Monroe, Phillips, Poinsett, Prairie, Randolph, St. Francis, White and Woodruff. Applicants that do not have nonprofit status may also be considered if the proposed project has a clear charitable purpose.
This grant program is focused on supporting networks and collaborations to improve social and economic conditions for children and families in the Arkansas Delta region. Funding priority will be given to existing partnerships/coalitions that have a track record of previous work together.
Proposals should address one or more of the following purposes: Improving the conditions of people and families in the Arkansas Delta. Building local capacity and infrastructure in the Arkansas Delta. Fostering networks and connections across the region.
Grants will generally range from $5,000 to $15,000, depending on the scope of the project. Larger requests will be considered if the applicant provides evidence that receiving a grant from the Arkansas Delta Endowment for Building Community will enable match funding from other sources.
The Arkansas Delta Endowment for Building Community was established at Arkansas Community Foundation in 2009 through a gift from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.
