The city's human resources director has resigned, the Fort Smith city administrator said.
Naomi Roundtree's last day will be May 11, City Administrator Carl Geffken said. Roundtree has worked for the city since October 2016.
Julie Pickle of the Human Resources Department will serve as interim director, he said.
Roundtree's resignation is another installment in the string of turnover the city has experienced among its department heads within the last few years. The city has yet to hire a new sanitation director after firing Mark Schlievert in May 2017 and Baridi Nkokheli in December 2015.
The city recently hired a new streets and traffic control director, George Allen, after Greg Riley resigned in spring 2017. Police Chief Nathaniel Clark replaced former Police Chief Kevin Lindsey in January 2017 following Lindsey’s stepping down.
In April 2017, Utilities Director Jerry Walters replaced Steve Parke, who retired after 29 years with the city. Geffken became the city administrator in May 2016 after Ray Gosack's retirement. Fire Chief Philip Christensen was promoted from assistant fire chief in July 2016. Parks and Recreation Director Doug Reinert came on board in April 2015.
