An Arkansas Highway Police officer discovered 340 pounds of marijuana and 2,340 units of cannabis oil in a truck at the Alma Weigh Station Monday.

The product has an estimated street value of $2.2 million.

According to Arkansas Department of Transportation officials, Alan Ngo, 45, of Fountain Valley, Calif., was arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia and no record of duty status. He was taken to the Crawford County Detention Facility.

At 12:50 a.m. Monday the Arkansas Highway Police conducted a safety inspection at the Alma Weigh Station on Interstate 40 eastbound because they "had reason to believe that portions of the freight being transported were not legitimate." The driver gave consent to search the vehicle, an ArDOT news release states.
