It was indeed a special night as Warfield Concerts celebrated 50 years of providing outstanding performances for the community. Patrons, sponsors, and former Warfield committee members were in attendance and enjoyed the concert as the Memphis Symphony joined with a tribute band to celebrate the music of Prince. Many of the attendees paid tribute by wearing purple, Prince’s signature color.

The evening started with a four-course dinner catered by Michelle Waites as the crowd was entertained by the Memphis Symphony String Quartet. A special purple cocktail was made for the occasion and Miss Arkansas, Maggie Benton, was on hand to help with the celebration.

The band invited audience members to come down to the orchestra pit and dance. And, they did! People were dancing all over the auditorium.

Maureen Jones, chairman of the Warfield Concert Committee, recognized former longtime committee members Helen Mosby, Cassie Brothers, Betty Faust, and Bettye Hendrix.

It was an evening to remember. Longtime patrons and new supporters came together to celebrate one of Phillips County’s greatest assets – Warfield Concerts.
