Dorothy Wilborn was born July 17, 1922 in Marvell, Arkansas to Elkanier and Leatha Johnson. She was one of seven born to this union. She departed this earthly life February 22, 2018.

 

Dorothy confessed hope in Christ at an early age and became a member of Old Jerusalem M.B. Church. She later joined First Baptist M.B. Church in Elaine, Arkansas where she served on the Mother’s Board and remained a faithful member for as long as her health prevailed. Affectionately known as “Aunt Dorothy,” she was extremely friendly to basically everyone. She called females, “Baby Sister” and males, “Bay Bro.”

 

Dorothy was employed as a Custodian within the Elaine School District. She also did private duty jobs and seasonal jobs to maintain her independence which allowed her to remain self-sufficient. She was very energetic and industrious.

 

Dorothy was united in Holy Matrimony to Ivory Wilborn.

 

Dorothy was proceeded in death by her parents, husband, and her siblings: Simon Johnson, Author Johnson, Winston Johnson, Olymphus Johnson, Edgar Johnson, and Ruthie Johnson Marshall.

 

She leaves to celebrate her life a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends

 

Funeral Services will be held at First Baptist Church, Elaine Arkansas; Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held prior to service at First Baptist Church, Elaine Arkansas; Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow immediately at First Baptist Church Cemetery, Elaine Arkansas. Jackson – Highley Funeral Home have been entrusted to the services.
