Seven area students have been awarded two-year academic scholarships to Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas this fall.
Receiving full-tuition Technical Achievement Scholarships are: Kylaisha Fair, Colby Adams, and Courtney Despenza, all of Helena; Makayla Kelley, of Lexa; Sherri Redden, of Marianna; Nigel Sparks, of Conway; and Sharonica Minton, of Indianola, MS.
Sparks, Adams, and Despenza are all enrolled in the CDL program, while Redden and Minton are majoring in nursing. Fair and Kelley have selected phlebotomy and criminal justice, respectively.
These scholarships were awarded based on American College Test scores and high school grade point averages.
