RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - Following a week in which she eclipsed 20 points in a game for the first two times in her Arkansas Tech career, Ke'Vonshaye Stackhouse has been named the Great American Conference Co-Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
Stackhouse joins Southwestern Oklahoma's Hayden Priddy as co-women's players of the week for the 11th week of the 2017-18 season. Stackhouse helped Arkansas Tech secure three wins last week, giving the Suns victories in nine of their last 10 contests.
Against Harding on Jan. 15, Stackhouse scored a game-high 22 points on 8-12 shooting from the field. She also tallied six rebounds, three assists, two steals, one block and just one turnover in 33 minutes on the floor.
She followed the career-high scoring effort with a new career-high, recording 26 points against Arkansas-Monticello on Jan. 18. The freshman from Helena-West Helena Central High School also set a career-high with four assists and tied her career high with seven rebounds. Tech closed out the week with an 84-67 win over Ouachita on Saturday. Stackhouse finished the game with 15 points, including 3-5 shooting from three-point range.
On the season, Stackhouse is second on the team and 14th in the GAC in scoring with 13.3 points per game. She has posted a .480 field-goal percentage and .368 three-point percentage, while her .800 free-throw percentage is ninth-best in the conference.
Stackhouse and the Golden Suns return to play on Thursday, Jan. 25, as Tech hosts Southeastern Oklahoma. The GAC contest is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in Tucker Coliseum.
