An operating budget for 2018 was approved by the Phillips County Quorum Court at their last regular monthly session of 2017 on Dec. 12. The budget includes nearly $2.9 million for the county's general funds and more than $2.8 million for the county road funds.

An operating budget for 2018 was approved by the Phillips County Quorum Court at their last regular monthly session of 2017 on Dec. 12. The budget includes nearly $2.9 million for the county's general funds and more than $2.8 million for the county road funds.

Highlights of the budget include $153,942 for the County Judge's Office; $219,163 for the County Clerk's Office; $126, 231 for the Circuit Clerk's Office; $114,362 for the Treasurer's Office; $127, 963 for the quorum court; $109,626 for courthouse maintenance; $137,900 for county buildings; $858,045 for the Sheriff's Department; $67,300 for the county health unit; and $43,368 for circuit court.

The appropriation ordinance states, "any transfers of monies between the various funds of the county or between the four major categories of expenditures, personal services, supplies, other services and charges, and capital outlays shall be made with prior approval of the Phillips County Quorum Court.

A copy of the budget will be filed in the County Clerk's office and will be available for inspection and copying by any person during regular office hours.
