KIPP Delta Public Schools will have a ceremonial ribbon-cutting for its new Beechcrest Campus during a ceremony set for 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, at the school site, located at 1020 Plaza Street in Helena-West Helena.

Students, parents, local officials, and anyone who attended school at the former Beechcrest Elementary are invited to attend the celebration. The event will include a brief ceremony, followed by tours of the facility.

The Beechcrest campus opened in August and is home to KIPP Delta Elementary Literacy Academy, serving students in grades pre-K through 5. With the opening of the Beechcrest Campus, KIPP Delta’s Cherry Street campus is now home to KIPP Delta Collegiate High School.

This expansion will allow KIPP Delta to serve more students, improve the quality of the services provided, and boost the local economy by breathing new life into what had been empty buildings.

The renovated campus includes all-new classrooms, hallways, and common areas, as well as two new playgrounds. The facility, which was formerly owned by the Helena-West Helena School District, had been vacant for several years.

KIPP Delta Public Schools are tuition-free, open enrollment, public charter schools, and enrollment is open to all. KIPP Delta has a 16-year track record of helping educationally underserved students in the Arkansas Delta develop the knowledge, skills, and character strengths they need to succeed throughout their education and in the competitive world beyond.
