Funeral services for Ronnie Demond Kemp will be held  2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 26, at New Light M.B. Church. Rev. Edward Wade will officiate. Visitation will be from  1 to 2 p.m.,  Sunday at New Light M.B. Church. Burial will be Dec. 1, 2017 at 11:30 a.m .at the West Tennessee Veteran Cemetery. 

Ronnie Demond Kemp was born July 26, 1975 in Helena. Ronnie was the seventh of seven sons born to Samuel and Ruby Kemp. 

Ronnie accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age at the Morning Star Baptist Church. 

Ronnie attended school in the Helena-West Helena School District. He graduated in the Central High School Class of 1993. While in high school, Ronnie played football and was a member of the CHS choir. He was well known for his beautiful tenor voice. In 1993, Ronnie joined the Navy and served his country proudly until 1996.  After returning home, Ronnie attended a college in Texas on a music scholarship and later attended college in Memphis, Tennessee where he received a certificate in computer operations and repair. 

Ronnie departed this life on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017. He is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Kemp, Sr. and Ruby Kemp, three brothers, Samuel Kemp, Jr., Roy Lee Kemp and Alan Kemp. 

Ronnie's family and friends will miss him dearly.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory, three daughters, Catlen and Cortlen Kemp (twins) of New York, Celeina Kemp of Ohio; two sons, James Kemp of Ohio and Jacob Kemp of New York; three brothers, Michael D. Kemp( Minako) of New York, Quintus Kemp of Pennsylvania, Gregory Kemp of Forrest City; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,; a very close friend from childhood, J.C. Stayton, Jr., who was with him at the time of his passing,; and other relatives and dear friends.
