Danny Drayton departed this earthly life November 14, 2017 surrounded by his loving family

Danny Drayton was born Sept. 8, 1965 in Marvell, to Mattie Mitchell and Dan Drayton, Jr. He departed this earthly life November 14, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was baptized and joined Calvary Baptist Church at an early age. He received his education at Barton High School.

Danny enjoyed playing dominoes, watching sports games, working beside his mother, playing with his grandchildren, hanging with friends and family.

Danny is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Rafe and Ethylean Mitchell, his paternal grandparents, Daniel Drayton, Sr., and Commie Lee Drayton, two aunts, Mary Ann Drayton and Beatrice King, three uncles, Willie B. Lofton, James Drayton, Willie Drayton, and a sister, Tracey Eileen Drayton.

Danny leaves to cherish his memory a special friend of 27 years, Undraye Wilson; five daughters, Shala Burgess, Tazmin Wilson, both of Jonesboro, Cherneko Burgess, Shannon Brider, Asha Iokepa, all of Helena – West Helena; two sons, Ramon Burgess, Trent Wilson, both of Helena – West Helena; his mother, Mattie Mitchell; his father; Dan Drayton, Jr.; four brothers, Timothy Brewer, Demetrius (Angela) Drayton, Jermaine Drayton and Daniel Drayton, III; a sister, Mary (Roderick) Wafer; six aunts, Mary, Everlyn, Alberta (Ray), Dorothy, Sharon, Darlene (Sammie); 10n uncles, S.B., Rafe, Rev. Lornie (Clara), Ike, Sylvester, George (Deborah), Larry (Judith), Tommy (Lisa), Ernest, and Freddie; two great aunts, Laura and Willie Mae; a special aunt, Mary Mitchell; a special cousin, Roy Lee Williams, Jr.; special friends, Trent Wilson, Charles Wilson, Eddie Burk, Odell Davis, III, Shirley Hopkins, and Blanchie Johnson; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 24 in the Jackson – Highley Funeral Home Chapel from 3 to 6 p.m. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 25, at the P.L.M. and D. District Center at Helena Crossing. Interment will follow immediately in the Oneida Community Cemetery.
