John Edward Truitt, 60, died Monday, Oct. 9, 2017 in Little Rock.

John Edward Truitt, 60, died Monday, Oct. 9, 2017 in Little Rock. He was born July 17, 1957 in Helena, to the late Jimmie Truitt, Sr. and the late Flord Lee Truitt (Neal). 

John accepted the Lord Jesus as his Savior at an early age and graduated with the Elaine High School class of 1975.  He attended Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, where he became a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. John relocated to Little Rock, and later, in 2008, he began his beloved trucking career. John enjoyed watching football and spending time with his family. He will truly be missed.

Along with both parents, John was preceded in death by two brothers, Ezell Truitt and Sammie Lee Truitt. 

He leaves to cherish his memory,  a son, Kwasi Truitt; a stepson, Zachary Hickey, both of Little; a sister, Addie Stribling of Lake View; three brothers, Jimmie Lee (Vern) Truitt, Jr. of West Memphis, William James (Mary Helen) Truitt of Little Rock, Garry Truitt, Sr of Lake View; six grandchildren, Kailon and Kartier Truitt, Jada Thomas, Stormi Siegears, Zedrick and Zahrea Hickey, all of Little Rock; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held today, Oct. 13 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Kincaid Funeral Services Community Center Chapel at 1160 Springdale Rd., Helena.

The funeral will be at the same location Saturday, Oct. 14 at 11 a.m. Rev. Rickey Parks will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in First Baptist Church Cemetery in Elaine.
