For the first time in its 11-year history, the Tour da' Delta will take place during the big King Biscuit Blues Festival.

The biking event, held each year in memory of Tom Kinnebrew, former CEO of Helena Regional Medical Center and avid, will get underway at 9 a.m. On Saturday, Oct. 7. There are three divisions – the 65-mile ride, the 30-mile ride and the fun ride. The starting times for each classification are 9 a.m., 9:30 a.m., and 10 a.m. respectively.

Riders, both young and old as well as experts and amateurs are invited to enjoy a scenic tour of the Arkansas Delta. The route will take participants around a cypress filled lake, the rolling hills that wind through the St. Francis National Forest while experiencing the history of the Civil War when passing Fort Curtis and other historical landmarks.

Tour registration is $60 for all rides. The fee includes a free pass to the blues festival following the ride; $20 in Blues Bucks to eat lunch at any of the downtown vendors and a pair of Tour da' Delta socks.

Tour da' organizers report that bicycle helmets are required to be worn by all participants. Likewise, they must stick to the designated routes. No detours.

Participant pick-up packages may be obtained from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 6 and Saturday morning, Oct. 7 from 8 a.m. until 9 a.m.

Jerseys may be purchased prior to the race.

Check in will take place at the American Legion Hut.
