State Representative Chris Richey (D-Helena-West Helena) has announced he is seeking re-election to the Arkansas House of Representatives in 2018. Rep. Richey is currently serving his third term representing District 12, which includes Phillips County and parts of Arkansas, Lincoln and Desha counties.

State Representative Chris Richey (D-Helena-West Helena) has announced he is seeking re-election to the Arkansas House of Representatives in 2018. Rep. Richey is currently serving his third term representing District 12, which includes Phillips County and parts of Arkansas, Lincoln and Desha counties.

“It has been an honor to represent the strength and values of the people residing in District 12,” Richey said, “and I plan to continue my work creating greater opportunities while improving the quality of life for all the citizens in my district and across our great state of Arkansas.”

As a member of the 91st General Assembly, Rep. Richey serves on the Insurance and Commerce Committee and the Public Health, Labor and Welfare Committee. He also serves on Joint Performance Review and the Arkansas Legislative Council where he is the House Chairman of the Lottery Oversight Sub-Committee.

“During my three terms in office, I have proudly supported legislation that has brought tax relief to families, secured financial stability for rural hospitals, promoted economic development and job growth for businesses, improved workforce training for students and provided greater health care access for those in need. “

A Helena-West Helena resident, Rep. Richey and his wife, Holly, have two sons, Ryan and Jon. He works as the executive director of the Phillips County Chamber of Commerce and serves as the president of the board of the Boys & Girls Club of Phillips County.

He is also a member of Delta Fellowship Church and the Helena-West Helena Kiwanis Club.
