Josephine Dunlap Bryant, 95, of Phillips County, passed away on Sept. 8, 2017 in Dallas, Texas.

She was born Aug. 31, 1922 in Rondo, to Bose Dunlap, and Cornelia Cooper Dunlap. She was the fourth of four children, James, Ike and John Dunlap, preceded her in death.
She confessed her hope in Christ at Bethel A.M.E. (Mount Perion) at LaGrange. She later joined the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Robert Molton High School in Marianna.
On Dec. 25, 1938, she married Freddie Bryant. They were married 71 years at the time of his passing. She was the mother of 15 children, four of whom preceded her in death, James Lee, Beatrice, Rommie, and Freddell Bryant.
She leaves to cherish her memory andd remembrance of her love, nine daughters, Cornelia O’Neal of Lexa, Pearlie Mae Paschel, St. Louis Missouri, Thelma Bryant of Lexa, Lillie McDaniel, of Mesquite, Texas, Ernice Bryant Blann, of Little Rock, Bernice Davis, of Dallas Texas; Gwenester Bryant,of DeSoto, Texas, Arlene (Gerald) Hill, of Cedar Hill, Texas, Colette Bryant, of Little Rock, AR, Alicia Canonge, of Landaster,Texas; 3 sons, Melvin (Sana) Bryant, of Stuttgart, Cleophus (Lois) Bryant, of Memphis Tennessee; an adopted son, Vincent (Beradine) Lewis, of Jacksonville, North Carolina; 25 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and good friends.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. tonight in the Kincaid Funeral Services Chapel on Springdale Road.
The funeral will be 11 a.m., Saturday at Friendship MB Church on County Road 262 in Lexa.
The Rev. Gary Dunlap will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow on the church grounds.
