Community Advocates is announcing a new program designed to help clean up the city of Helena-West Helena. It is called We Care.

Through this effort, reports Larry Evans, program organizer, the public and private sector will join forces to mobilize local citizen and civic groups, organizations and individuals to combine and maximize their efforts to make Helena-West Helena a clean and inviting place to live, work and play.

Evans stressed that social, civic, fraternal and religious groups as well as businesses, schools and individuals are strongly urged to get involved and volunteer.

“We Care is a volunteer-driven effort with support from the city and business supporter,” stated Evans. “Individuals and groups are encouraged to find an area such as a park, roadway, vacant lot that needs cleaning and take on the challenge.”

According to Evans, community advocates will provide help with the projects. They will help provide supplies and equipment and coordinating with other volunteers.

Evans says, “Please consider getting involved.”
