Funeral services for Orlena Hill, 65, of Helena-West Helena, will be held at True Vine Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, Aug. 26, at 11 a.m.

Funeral services for Orlena Hill, 65, of Helena-West Helena, will be held at True Vine Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, Aug. 26, at 11 a.m. with Dr. Mark A. Allen Sr., officiating

Visitation will be held noon to 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, in the Stephens Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment will be in Jackson Memorial Garden in Lexa.

Orlena Hill was born in West Helena, Arkansas on Oct. 30, 1951 to the late Oliver and Ollie Mae Hill.

 

Orlena confessed Christ at age 10 at Greater First Baptist Church in Helena-West Helena. She served in the junior choir, young adult choir and the senior choir. She later joined Springlake M.B. Church, and later moved to Shiloah Temple of Deliverance. After the Church was dissolved she joined True Vine M.B. Church.

 

She served as president and a member of the Pastor’s Aide, and was a faithful member until her death.

Orlena worked in the Helena-West Helena School District for 25 years.

 

Orlena is preceded in death by her mother, Ollie Mae Hill, her father, Oliver Hill, a daughter, Shielia, and her twin brother, Oliver Hill, Jr.

 

Orlena leaves to cherish her life memory, two daughters, Leilani (Bill) Young of Little Rock, Tamika Stackhouse (Rickey) Love of Arlington, Texas; three sons, Kenneth (Sylvia) Hill, Houston Alfred Stackhouse, and Warren (Mary) Stephens, all of Helena-West Helena; 11 granddaughters, Shakela Hill, Rynada Cheataum, Kadija “Lucy” Cheatum, Tatiyana Stackhouse, Aliyah Stackhouse, Ashunti Stackhouse, A’moriyah Stephens, Chanta (Chaulk) Mitchell, Kayla Mansfield, and Jada Monroe; 12 grandsons, Bill Young, Jr., Aundarius Stackhouse, Rickey Love, Jr., Lathan Love, Alandirus Stackhouse, Marquise, D.J. Johnson, Steven Johnson, Ja’Vorious Pruitt, Donterious Coleman, Lawrence Tavin Mansfield, and Kyle Mansfield; a special grandson, James Dawkins; five great- grandchildren, Makayla Sturd, Adrien Hill, Ariel Janae, Bill Young III, and Jackson Smith; a nephew, Oliver (Antonette) Hill; four nieces, Jemiella Hill, Melissa Hill (Danny), Connie Cooks, and Belinda Cooks; many close cousins, grand-cousins,; a special friend, Annie (Melvin) Wilson; and many other family and friends, who will miss her dearly.
