One man is dead and two women were injured as the result of a deadly shooting incident that occurred during a reported domestic disturbance that occurred in the 100 block of 5th Street Thursday afternoon.

One man is dead and two women were injured as the result of a deadly shooting incident that occurred during a reported domestic disturbance that occurred in the 100 block of 5th Street Thursday afternoon.

WREG-TV Channel 3 out of Memphis, Tennessee reported that a 43-year-old man was shot to death on his front porch. He and his sisters ran inside the house where the man collapsed. The incident occurred about 2:30 p.m. The man's sisters were the other two victims in the attack.

Police told the television station that a man they referred to as a person-of-interest had been taken into custody. The man was reportedly the victim's brother-in-law. According to police the name of the alleged shooter will not be released until formal charges have been filed.

Helena-West Helena Police Chief James Smith told Channel 3 that his officers have not had the opportunity to formally question the suspect.

A neighbor told WREG that when he arrived home he saw paramedics preparing to transport one of the female victims to the hospital. They were reported in non-critical condition at a Memphis medical center.

Another Memphis television station, WHBQ-Fox 13, reported that Chief Smith said that an off-duty police officer arrived at the scene and performed CPR on the victims until paramedics got there.

The fatal shooting was Helena-West Helena's third homicide of the year.
