The Barton-Lexa School District has received a $102,000 grant from the Helena Health Foundation (HHF).

The HHF grant will be used to assist in building a baseball and softball field that will be used by the communities of Barton, Lexa, Oneida and Lake View. Through another grant proposal a community walking track will be placed around the existing football field. All of these new additions to the Barton-Lexa School District athletic facility will be available for use by the communities in the district with the goal in mind to promote healthy lifestyle choices in Phillips County.

The Helena Health Foundation's mission is "to support and improve the public well-being andquality of life in Phillips County, especially in health care matters,” and according to Vic Juengel, chairman of the board of directors of the Foundation, the Barton-Lexa ball field projects and walking track meet the Foundation's goal to improve the quality of life in Phillips County.
