Funeral services for Charles Williams will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, July 22 at the First Baptist Church of Barton. Rev. Leroy Williams will officiate. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 22 at the church. Interment will be in Jackson Memorial Gardens. 

Charles Williams was born on Feb. 16, 1946 to Bessie and Fred Williams in Phillips County.

Charles confessed his faith in Christ at an early age at the First Baptist Church of Barton.

He attended school at Oneidas. He later attended the Automotive Institute in Hot Springs, where he received a Master of Automotive Mechanics Certificate.

Charles moved to Chicago, Illinois in 1964. He worked for 30 years at Advance Transform. He loved living in Chicago. He mostly lived on the West Side of Chicago. He eventually moved in with his brother and best friend, Walter Williams, where they shared a home in Dolton, Illinois, until his death.

Charles departed this life on Saturday, July 9, 2017, at Ingalls Hospital in Harvey, Illinois. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bessie and Fred Williams, his sisters, Jessie LaPearl Debro and Shirley J. Bradley, and his brothers, Freddie Lee Williams and Clarence Williams.

Charles leaves to cherish his memory, his brothers, Melvin Williams of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Walter Williams of Dolton, Illinois, Richard (Teresa) Williams of Fayetteville, Georgia; a sister, Barbara Davis Hines (Winzal) of Scottsdale, Arizona; an aunt, Katie Newell of Chicago; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
