Stanley Truman Gregory Grove of Poplar Grove died at his home with his family by his side on Saturday, July 15, 2017.

He was born April 13, 1946, in Burris, Louisiana to Sandiland and Jessie Gregory.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Sandiland “Buddy” Gregory and Larry Thomas Gregory.

Stanley leaves his sisters and brothers, Thelma Alagene Gregory of Manteno, Illinois, James Bennett Gregory of Memphis, Tennessee, George Franklin (Joy) of McCrory, Mildred Pauline Marguez of Crane, Texas, Nancy Ferracci (Miro) of Clarksdale, Mississippi, Sarah Ann Gregory of Lake Jackson, Texas, Dennis David Gregory of Helena; a host of nieces, nephews, friends; and two very special great-nephews that were his heart, Paxton and Peyton Gregory of Poplar Grove.

Stanley lived in Memphis for several years and worked for Memphis Auto Parts until he became ill. He had a strong passion for racing, especially oval dirt track and NASCAR. At an earlier age, he quit his job twice to be able to watch Dale Earnhardt race NASCAR.

As much as he loved racing and fishing, he loved his family even more. He always had a smile on his face that would brighten your day, along with a laugh that would fill your heart and the biggest most giving heart you'd ever seen. He always had a story to tell and loved sharing them.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 19 at the Fourth Street Baptist Church in Helena-West Helena at 1 p.m.

Memorials can be made to St. Jude's Research Hospital at 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis TN or Breast Cancer Research at 60 East 56th St., 8th Floor, New York, NY or bcrf@bcrfcure.org
