Each year for the past 15 years dozens of volunteers have come to Helena-West Helena as part of the All Church Challenge, sponsored by Together for Hope.

This year volunteers from Arkansas, Texas, Virginia, and North Carolina have come to work with local children in the areas of swimming, storytelling, music, and art. They also assist with badly needed construction projects, such as building handicap ramps.

Together for Hope was formed in 2001 as a 20-year commitment to the 20 poorest counties in the United States, including Phillips County, Arkansas.  It is a ministry of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, based in Decatur, Georgia.

Another group of volunteers will be working in Helena-West Helena the week of July 17. Local volunteers are still needed to help. Contact Janee Tisby at janee.tisby@outlook.com for more information.
